Everybody has some type of social media these days. We never realize that some people may not be who they seem to be until it happens to you. In fact, there is a television show all about people talking to someone who turns out to not be that person. This show is known as Catfish. I could on, but that is not what I am here to discuss today.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders had a conference Thursday, March 9th to announce that a bill is being filed to require Arkansas residents to provide a source of identification to be able to have a social media account.

They have said they are doing this in order to take another measure in protecting minors from predators that seem to take over the social media world. Sanders also made the point there is inappropriate content on social media sites that minors should not be seeing. She’s right! When comparing my generations knowledge at a young age; we are very “sheltered” compared to todays younger generations.

This is one of the many bills that is trying to be passed at this time. That all being said, I believe that Governor Sanders made a much needed decision for change. Hopefully this will help limit the amount of inappropriate content minors see, as well as help protect minors from predators in todays world. Maybe this can even cut down on social media time all together. I understand that some may not agree, but what if one of those minors was your child.
